About me

My name is Karl Kaufmann also known as Donkaos or Donkaos501.

I’m 19 years old and currently training as a Mechatronics Technician for Refrigeration in Germany. Tech has always been a big part of my life, both as a hobby and as a way to keep learning.

On this blog, I share my personal projects and experiences with things like ESP32 microcontrollers, smart home setups (Home Assistant, Zigbee, etc.), Java programming, and DIY IT infrastructure (self-hosting, tinkering, and infrastructure setups). I enjoy diving into cybersecurity, building custom PCs for gaming, and experimenting with electronics and automation around the house.

A lot of what I do is self-taught, learning by doing, and figuring things out along the way. I started out years ago modding Minecraft and writing small plugins, and over time that turned into a broader interest in tech, hardware, and IT-Systems.
